Description: This is the official website for Tin Can Sailors, the National Association of Destroyer Veterans, founded in 1976. The non-profit 501(c)(3) organization has a threefold mission: to educate the public about destroyers and those who served aboard them and preserve destroyer history; to support today’s destroyer Navy; and to promote camaraderie among members through events, publications, social media, and reunions. The organization publishes The Tin Can Sailor magazine quarterly, sends free copies to active destroyers and frigates, makes grants to historic destroyer museum ships, and is independently audited annually. The association is headquartered in Somerset, Massachusetts.
